How are Fractures Treated?

It can be treated by Surgery or by conservative methods. In cases of hairline or minimally displaced fractures, conservative treatment in the form of a slab or cast (depending on swelling)/ braces for immobilization of the bone or joint is done. In complex trauma cases, surgical procedures called Open reduction – Internal fixation with the help of metal pins, rods, and plates are used to align and stabilize the fractures.
